Support Students & Volunteers in Panama!

WorldTeach Panama is the newest WorldTeach program, currently in its inaugural year. Volunteers are teaching in one of two schools in Santiago, Panama. The first is an elementary school called Anexa Canada, and the second is a high school called Escuela Normal. Escuela Normal is Panama's first Teacher's College. Students here will go on to be the future teachers of Panama, Unfortunately, the students studying to be English teachers have very few resource at their disposal and many of the books they use are extremely out of date.

As a result, the volunteers here in Panama are organizing a book drive to help update and improve the English library at Escuela Normal. The books and resources donated will become a part of an English resource center that will serve both the students of the school as well as future WorldTeach volunteers in Panama.

How you can help:
Some of you may be teachers and we would be grateful to receive any old books or resources you are willing to send, especially ESL/EFL related materials. If you would like to contribute to the book drive but do not have access to teaching materials, we have created a Wish List of ESL/EFL books and resources on Amazon.com. to make donating easier. Please don't feel obligated to buy the books new. While brand new books are great, used ones are just as good, and often a lot cheaper. Best of all, any donations, new or used, that have a receipt are tax deductable!

There is no end time for this campaign, and we will continue accepting donations as long as you are willing to send them! As a personal goal, I would like to see all of the books on the wish list accounted for before I leave Panama on June 8th. So spread the word and let's see if we can make that happen! If you have any questions please feel free to email or facebook me.

Thanks so much for your support!
